Photography club will begin next Tuesday (29th Sept) in Yr 6 classroom. If your child has booked their place and have any photos that they have taken and would like to show to the rest of the group bring them along.

PTA MEETING

We will be holding our first PTA meeting for this academic year on Monday 5th October at 3:15pm. Anyone wishing to join is very welcome, come along with some ideas for fundraising.

NAMING OF UNIFORM

Please could we ask that all uniform, shoes included are named, it is very difficult to return items if they do not have a name in them. The uniform shop in Redruth will embroider your child’s name on your clothes for £1.50 an item (ideal for sweatshirts).

TRAVEL PLAN

Each child will have received a questionnaire ref the way they travel to school. Please could they be returned as soon as possible. The school has to complete a School Travel Plan and this is the first part of it. The week beginning 5th October is ‘Walk to School’ week and we would love as many children to walk as possible. If you have to come by car because of the distance could you maybe park somewhere in the village (taking care not to block drives) and walk the children the last bit of the way. Staff will be keeping a record of who walks so that we can fulfill another part of the Travel Plan. Thank you for your support.

VOUCHERS

We are collecting the Morrisons ‘Let’s grow’ and the Nestle Box Tops vouchers. We have collecting boxes in the front foyer or just hand them to the class teacher. Thank you.

HARVEST FESTIVAL

Next Friday (2nd October) is our Harvest Festival, the children will be performing a variety of songs etc. Afterwards we will hold our annual auction of produce this year raising money for St Julia’s Hospice, please stay it is usually very exciting.

We will of course need donations of fruit and vegetables to make up boxes of produce. If you are able to donate either made up boxes or items to put in boxes we would be very grateful. Could we please have them on Thursday 1st October. Thank you for your support and generosity.

SHOE BOX APPEAL

This year we plan to take part in the Shoe Box Appeal and so please save your empty shoe boxes for us. Any that you have can be brought to the office. There will be more information later in the term.

ASTHMA

Those children we have on our records as having asthma will have received a letter about our new asthma care plan. If your child has asthma and has not received the letter then we do not know about their condition. If this is the case could you please come to the school office to update our records? If they use a pump at home they should have a pump at school.

CONTACT DETAILS

Have you changed your mobile phone details/moved or have you changed next of kin details? If so could you please let us know as soon as possible. If you are not sure just send a note in and we will check it against what we already have.
